Finger-knit Plastic-bag PlayPods into existence for children of all ages to delight in.

Location : Heaven's Gate Garden, Bed-stuy

 

Intention:

To engaging our community in the process of gathering and transforming discarded plastic bags.  Sourcing our city's abundance we teach techniques to create plastic twine.  Utilizing these skeins and other recycled fibers we invite the community to knit and weave suspended PlayPods into existence to delight children of all ages in the Community Garden.  This process intends to shift participants perspective on what is a valuable resource, what is worthy of our attention? The act of collaboratively weaving strengthens community and connects us to our roots.
